Gallery Description:
In the last few years I’ve been inspired by current events and my travels. My goal is to evoke emotion or a thoughtful reaction from the viewer
‘Collapse’ is part of a series painted during a period when I worked through my feelings about the Iraq war, terrorism, the PATRIOT ACT and other issues stemming from the 9/11 attacks.
The Eco Series was painted as I became increasingly disturbed by the current administration’s politicalization of the Environmental Protection Agency. Each is a mixed media collage with monotype prints. The monotypes use images from everyday life and my travels, and.are printed on paper I made using plants from my garden.
My paintings, drawings and stained glass pieces are in almost 100 private and corporate collections in the Chicago area, throughout the United States and in Brazil.
Recent shows include Beverly Art Center; Orland Park Public Library; Palette and Chisel Academy of Art; Chicago Artists Coalition Open; Executive Service Corps of Chicago; Merlo and Uptown Public Libraries in Chicago; Wilmette Public Library; and Woman Made Gallery, Chicago
